Types of Breakfast Nook Sets

There are many different styles of breakfast nook sets that you can choose from and which one you choose depends on many factors. For example, the style of the rest of your kitchen plays a big part. If you have a modern kitchen, then you will most likely want to have a kitchen nook set that is equally as modern. Another factor might be the size of your family. If you need to sit a large number of people, some styles lend themselves better to that purpose. Alternatively, if you so not have very much space available to you in the breakfast nook area then you might be forced to select a completely different style of breakfast nook set.

The first style of breakfast nook furniture is a kitchen dining set. These furniture sets will consist of a table that sits in the center of the kitchen nook area and then some kind of seating around that table. The seating will usually be chairs, but it is not impossible to find breakfast nook bench seating in a kitchen nook dining set. I call this category dining sets because they are just more casual versions of what you might find in a formal dining room. Kitchen dining sets can come in all shapes and sizes. Squares, rectangles, and circles are all common kitchen table shapes and which one you choose depends on the shape of the room. You can find kitchen dining sets that are traditional as well as modern. You will usually pick this type of breakfast nook set if you have an average sized family and a medium to large breakfast nook area.

The next style of breakfast nook set is a corner breakfast nook set. You need to have a rectangular or square shaped kitchen nook in order to use a corner breakfast nook set because these furniture sets are almost always rectangular in shape. Rarely, you will find one that is square, but never round. The corner part of the corner kitchen nook set is a large L shaped bench so breakfast nook bench seating is obviously part of this type of kitchen furniture set. You will often choose a breakfast nook with benches if you have a large family because bench seating will seat more people than chairs. In addition, if you need extra breakfast nook storage, this is the way to go because those corner bench seats are often equipped with breakfast nook bench storage under the seat.

If you have a smaller breakfast nook area then you might be forced to choose a caf style breakfast table set. Caf style breakfast nook sets have small tables with only two chairs typically. They can be round, square, or rectangular, but round tables are most common. You will not find breakfast nook benches with a caf style table, because there is no room. Some caf style tables will be what furniture experts call high tops. The table is at chest level rather than below the waist so you need stools for seating rather than chairs. Obviously, this is the perfect type of breakfast nook set if you have limited space like in an apartment or if you have a small family with only one or two members.
